On the third Thursday of each month, come and explore UQ’s world class facilities and reconnect with fellow graduates in the Alumni Relations Centre. Join us for morning tea, followed by a free guided tour.

This month join us at The Centre for Advanced Imaging (CAI). CAI is a strategic initiative of The University of Queensland and reflects the growth in biotechnology and biomedical research requiring spectroscopic and imaging research capabilities. UQ Alumni are invited to experience this state of the art facility, containing over $50 million of research infrastructure. The Centre houses some of the most advanced imaging equipment in the Southern Hemisphere including the first ultra-high field 7 Tesla whole body human MRI scanner; a 3 Tesla Prisma MRI scanner and a Biograph Horizon PET-CT scanner; as well as a range of high field pre-clinical imaging systems, a cyclotron and radiochemistry facilitates. CAI researchers work on innovations in spectroscopic and imaging technology, imaging biomarker development and on biomedical applications of imaging. On the tour you will meet some our researchers and be given an insight into the type of research that is currently happening and how the equipment is used across a wide range of research disciplines.
