Ancient Egyptian mummies have captured the public imagination for centuries, as if carrying their spirits through time.

Join Dr Serena Love as she explores how and why the Egyptians created these immortal remains, from natural to artificial mummies, and all the gruesome details in between.

The evolving techniques for mummification will be discussed, on humans and animals, using the surviving textual record and the rituals from one of ancient Egypt's most iconic object: the mummy.
