We will finish the event with a networking session where startup hubs, incubators & accelerators such as iLab and UQ Idea Hub can give you some further information on how to take the first step in turning your ideas into a reality.

The event will be held at Brisbane favourite, Newstead Brewing Co in Castlemaine St. Milton, founded and co-owned by Dr Mark Howes.  Mark graduated  from The University of Queensland with a PhD in Molecular Cell Biology. He then went on to use his love of home brewing and science knowledge and skills to become to become a successful entrepreneur himself.

The company now employs more than 70 local staff at two locations in Newstead and Milton. They are focused on sustainability, corporate responsibility and giving back to the local community when growing the business.

Newstead Brewing Co. have now teamed up with a current UQ PhD student, Edward Kerr, to uncover how wild yeast could help diversify beer production and quality.
