Professor Stuart Pimm, a world leader in the study of present day extinctions from Duke University (USA), will join The University of Queensland in presenting the inaugural Jiro Kikkawa Memorial Lecture on 3 October.

In his lecture ‘Saving Nature in Places that Matter’, Professor Pimm will take you on a journey around the globe to discuss how human actions are driving species to extinction one thousand times faster than the natural rate. Are there ways to prevent extinction? And if so, where should we concentrate our conservation efforts? Are there places that matter more than others?

Students, staff, members of the public and media are invited to attend this event.
