Join IMB for the opportunity to listen to the ARC Future Fellow and Deputy Director of the Centre for Pain Research at The University of Queensland – Associate Professor Irina Vetter.

A/Prof Vetter will enlighten you on how she studies the toxins from plants and venomous animals to understand the molecular pharmacology of pain. These toxins are highly selective for ion channels and receptors found in the sensory neurons that detect pain, and can potentially be developed into novel analgesics.

Session Overview:

  • Presentation from A/Prof Vetter.
  • Tour of A/Prof Vetter’s laboratory.
  • Meet with A/Prof Vetter and her team over light morning tea.
