Ashleigh Simon

Ashleigh graduated from the University of Queensland in 2018 from a double degree in International Hotel and Tourism Management & Business Management. In 2016, she completed 6 months studying Business Management at University College Dublin, Ireland through the UQ Abroad program.

Ashleigh has a background in events operations, project management, marketing, stakeholder engagement and donor relations. She currently works at the Institute for Molecular Bioscience at UQ as an Advancement and Events Coordinator where she delivers event concepts to leverage the profile of the Institutes leading researchers making discoveries in brain cancer, endometriosis and Alzheimer’s Disease to altering algae as a source of bio-fuels. 

While studying at UQ, Ashleigh was involved in the Women’s Career Network, an organisation aiming to empower women in attaining leading professional roles and the sub-executive committee for UQ Marketing and Advertising Society. Through joining the UQ Young Alumni Advisory Board, she hopes to deliver social initiatives to increase engagement amongst alumni and providing a sense of community for the past graduates.
