UQ Giving Day Ambassadors

Join a powerful network of UQ ChangeMakers who are stepping up to become 2021 Giving Day Ambassadors.

Our message is clear: whoever you are, wherever you’re from, you can realise your potential at UQ.
Through the power of education, we can start a change reaction.

When is UQ Giving Day?
Wednesday 20 October

What’s our goal?
We aim to bring together 2,021 donors in 2021.

What’s involved in being a Giving Day Ambassador?
Spread the word
Share Giving Day videos, images, and posts with your friends via Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and email. We’ll be in touch with example messages to share. You’ll also be given a unique sharing link – this will track the direct impact of your sharing. Whenever something you’ve shared generates engagement and donations, you’ll climb up the ChangeMaker Ambassador leader board!

Create a challenge
Ignite some friendly competition and create a challenge with your friends, fellow alumni, colleagues, or family. For example, challenge 10 of your friends to donate to #UQGivingDay to unlock your gift of $100!

Make a gift
By making a gift of any size, you will:

  • Assist us in reaching our goal of 2,021+ donors in 24 hours,
  • Double your impact - all donations will be matched dollar for dollar by the University, and
  • Create a better world for future generations.

Once you sign up, you’ll be posted a welcome pack which includes a UQ Giving Day T-shirt, a donation box and a welcome letter. You’ll also be invited to an online information session where you can hear more about the goals and stories behind UQ Giving Day 2021 and meet your fellow Ambassadors!

Can I participate if I'm not in Australia?

While the official UQ Giving Day is taking place on Australian Eastern Standard Time (6pm, 19 October 2021 until 6pm, Wednesday 20 October 2021), the website will be available for you to use for a period around this window to ensure you can take part.

How does gift matching work?
Side by side with you, UQ is committed to ensuring that the cost of attending university does not prevent talented students from pursuing their higher education goals. Donations to UQ Giving Day funds made online, through the bank, and via telephone will be matched by the University (up to $50,000 per gift) until 6pm, 20 October 2021. For example, when you make a gift of $100 to an approved project an additional $100 will go to the cause. To allow for any delays by mail, donations made by post must be received by UQ by 28 October 2021 to be eligible for matching.
