The Queensland Commitment

Opportunity for every Queenslander

The University of Queensland was founded in 1909 by – and for – the people of Queensland. More than a century later, we’ve become a leading global institution for teaching, learning and research, but that founding commitment to Queensland remains at the core of who we are and all that we do.

As the University of and for Queensland, we believe education and opportunity must be available for all Queenslanders.

Together, our goal is to break down the personal, financial and geographical barriers facing Queensland students aspiring to study at UQ by 2032.

Join The Queensland Commitment

We want to work with you to strengthen communities, advocate for access to education and ensure opportunity for every Queenslander.

We believe in the power of local knowledge, expertise and experience. We want to work with you to grow UQ's regional engagement so we can better understand the needs of Queensland communities and amplify their voices. Learn more about the work we are doing by attending an event near you.
Education is a critical pathway to disrupting disadvantage. Your support can help ensure tertiary education is accessible to all Queenslanders by 2032. By growing UQ's endowment fund (matched funding available) we can create long-term solutions for educational inequality in Queensland.
We are building a community of ChangeMakers who share our vision for equitable access to education and are passionate about the future of Queensland. Complete this expression of interest survey to let us know how you'd like to be involved.
