How to nominate - UQ Alumni Awards

Each year The University of Queensland celebrates the diverse achievements of alumni with a suite of awards. These awards recognise alumni who have accomplished outstanding success in their field and who have made exemplary contributions to their community.

The recipients will be widely celebrated and promoted, leading up to and after the Courting the Greats awards ceremony which is held annually in October.

Nominations for 2021 have now closed.

The University of Queensland Alumni Award categories:

  • Vice-Chancellor’s Alumni Excellence Awards
  • UQ Alumnus of the Year (award created and supported by Alumni Friends)
  • International Alumnus of the Year
  • Distinguished Young Alumni Awards (35 years or younger at the nomination deadline)
  • Indigenous Community Impact Award
  • Colleges' UQ Alumni Award
  • Gatton Gold Medal

Nomination requirements:

  • A current professional résumé/biography of the nominee. 
  • A written statement detailing why the nominee deserves to be recognised and how they meet the criteria for the award.
  • A minimum of two written references in support of this nomination. 
  • (Optional) Nominations may also include supporting evidence such as awards, media clippings, electronic media, etc.
