Honorary Awards

Honorary Awards represent the University's highest honours.

UQ’s Honorary Awards publicly recognise exceptional achievements and contributions of outstanding individuals, whom – through their careers or personal endeavours – have made a unique and lasting contribution to the University, State of Queensland, Australia, or internationally. UQ's Honorary Awards celebrate the diversity of our global community and recognise individuals who represent the mission, values and aspirations of the University.

Nominations for UQ Honorary Awards remain open year-round. Complete nominations received by 31 March 2024 may be considered for conferral in December 2024.

Full details of eligibility, criteria, and process are outlined in the Honorary Awards Policy and Procedure. Details and documentation required to submit a nomination are listed in the Nomination Forms further below. Nominations must be treated with the highest confidentiality, and a nominee must not be advised of or consulted about their nomination at any stage prior to formal notification via the University's Vice-Chancellor.
