Join Alastair Blanshard, Paul Eliadis Professor of Classics and Ancient History, as he revisits the birth of portraiture in ancient Greece. Hear the story of how art originally designed to represent images of the immortal gods was transformed to capture the faces of mortal men and women.

In 2023, Kathleen Folbigg was released and acquitted after serving 20 years in prison, convicted by a jury of murdering her four young children over a 10-year period. She was convicted based on circumstantial evidence alone, without any physical evidence. She has always maintained that she is innocent. Danish scientists Professors Mette Nygaard and Michael Toft Overgaard shed light on how they became involved in the Australian legal inquiry into her convictions, and how their research played a central role in her acquittal.

Age-Ed is a support network for care partners for older persons at the University of Queensland. Join us for the very first Age-Ed Carers’ Café, a relaxed morning tea designed to bring care partners for older persons from the UQ community together. This is a safe, welcoming space to connect with others who understand the experience of being a care partner for an older person. Tea, coffee and morning tea will be provided. Registration is essential and numbers are limited.

Age-Ed is a new support network for care partners for older persons at UQ, which is run by UQ Law academics with lived experience of aged care or research expertise on ageing.
