Matthew McLennan

Head of the Global Value Team and a Portfolio Manager of the Global Value, International Value, US Value and Gold strategies (New York).

Matt joined First Eagle Investment Management in 2008 to head the Global Value Team. Matthew started his career in Brisbane, Australia with the Queensland Investment Corporation in 1991, where he ultimately was responsible for their International Equity exposure. In 1994, he joined Goldman Sachs in Sydney, where he worked for a year before moving to New York to join Goldman Sachs Asset Management.  In 2001, Matthew co-founded and was named Equity Chief Investment Officer of the Investment Strategy Group for Goldman Sachs private client business and in 2002 became a Managing Director of the firm. In 2003, he moved to London to become Co-Founder of Goldman Sachs Global Equity Partners.  

Matt received his Bachelor of Commerce with first-class honors and Master of International Commercial Law from the University of Queensland, Brisbane, Australia.  Matthew has interests in the field of education and serves as President of the Trinity School Board of Trustees, a member of the Board of Dean’s Advisors of the Harvard School of Public Health, and a Board member of the University of Queensland in the United States of America. He is also a Trustee of the Board of Directors for the Library of America. Matt holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
