Anne Cross AM

Anne Cross is a leader in business and community services, dedicated to improving the lives of people affected by ageing, illness, disability, poverty and trauma.

Cross is the former CEO of UnitingCare Queensland and was recognised as the Australian Telstra Business Woman of the year in 2014.

One of Australia’s largest health and community care providers, Cross has been at the helm of UnitingCare Queensland since 2003, after decades of experience in both government and non-government organisations in the community services sector.

Cross has also played a leading advisory role for key government initiatives including the Smart State Council and the Premier’s Domestic and Family Violence Taskforce, and has been instrumental in advancing the understanding and delivery of aged care and disability services throughout Australia and internationally.

Under her stewardship, UnitingCare Queensland has been a key player in developing and extending community services in over 400 locations across Queensland and the Northern Territory including remote and regional communities, and her passionate advocacy for the rights of vulnerable people has ensured they have been able to access the services that are critical to their quality of life.

In 2008 Cross was appointed as an adjunct professor of the School of Social Work and Applied Human Services at the University of Queensland.
