Mr Dane Bird-Smith

Race walker Dane Bird-Smith won a bronze medal while representing Australia at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games in the 20km Walk, a high point in a sporting career in which he has already achieved so much.

In 2015 he won gold medals at the World University Games (20km walk) and the Australian Athletics Championships (10km walk) and represented Australia at world championship level.

His passion for athletics started at an early age, and once he was introduced to race walking as a teenager never looked back. He is coached by his dual Olympian father, David Smith.
