Angus Scott-Young

“Sport, especially rugby, has always been an important part of my life, but I also have a passion for understanding the natural and health sciences."

Mr Angus Scott-Young is a professional rugby union player for the Queensland Reds.

He was Vice-Captain for the Australian Under 20s National Rugby Team from 2016 – 2017 and won two club premierships with the UQ Heavies Premier Grade in 2017 and 2019. In 2019 Mr Scott-Young was Captain of the Queensland Country NRC Rugby team.

He has played 46 games for the Queensland Reds since making his Super Rugby debut in 2018 and in 2019 was the Reds Defensive Player of the Year.

Mr Scott-Young also excels off the field having completed a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Science degrees with a GPA of 7. In 2019 he was awarded the Thomas Henry Nevitt Memorial Prize for Dux of Bachelor of Commerce. On top of his rugby career, he is currently studying a Master of Entrepreneurship and Innovation at UQ.
