Paul is the Global Head of Next Generation for HSBC Private Bank in London. He has over 10 years strategy and financial consulting experience working with senior leaders across the financial services industry. Paul is a qualified chartered accountant and UQ Commerce (Honours) and Business Management graduate and read the Master of Finance at the University of Cambridge. He has very fond memories of his time at UQ and is deeply committed to supporting the next generation of UQ students and graduates.
 
 
Nicholas O'Connor

Nicholas O’Connor is an experienced Communications & Public Affairs Consultant specialising in managing global campaign strategies for governments, corporates and start-ups. In 2017 he co-founded Insignis Media & Strategy, a London-based strategic communications firm. The team at Insignis creates communications campaigns utilising aspects of digital marketing, public relations, and stakeholder engagement. 
 
In addition to his corporate work, Nicholas is recognised as a leading expert in African political campaigning and has crafted and enacted several election campaign strategies for several African opposition parties. He has also led a series of training programmes as part of the Westminster Foundation for Democracy’s programme aimed at strengthening democracy in the region.
 
His fondest UQ memories include his time with student organisation 'AIESEC' and group study at the Red room.
 
 
Martin ShawMartin Shaw

Martin is the Research Director of a niche research firm focussed on consumer insights and benchmarking the performance of retailers worldwide, providing a professional audience with the facts they need to improve their businesses and bring them in line with best practice. He enjoyed his time at UQ and likes to support other alumni find their footing in London and in the research industry.
