Delivered annually by a distinguished speaker from the medical research sector, the Oration honours the memory of Dr Jian Zhou, who co-discovered the life-saving Gardasil vaccine for cervical cancer, alongside Emeritus Professor Ian Frazer AC.

This year’s Oration will feature keynote speaker, Associate Professor Fiona Simpson, leader of the Cancer Therapy Group at the Frazer Institute. She will share insights into how ideas from basic cell biology have been developed into clinical trials, offering new hope in the battle against cancer drug resistance.

With cancer cases in Australia projected to reach 158,000 in 2024, a staggering 86% increase since 2000, Associate Professor Simpson and her team are at the forefront of innovation in cancer research.

The event is a wonderful opportunity to meet with our distinguished guests and supporters, share the successes and future objectives of Frazer Institute and announce the Jian Zhou Award winners for 2024.

RSVP: Registrations are essential by 5pm, Thursday 14 November
