Drop-in science: why is my lettuce dying?
Saturday 3 May, 10–11am and 12–1pm

Dr Gurion Ang from the School of the Environment is on a mission to diagnose his dying lettuce. Home gardeners and plant enthusiasts will enjoy this dive into plant pathology, soil microbiology and invertebrate zoology.
This is a laboratory experience in an undergraduate teaching laboratory and is only available for participants 15+. Enclosed shoes are required.
Meet the Presenter
Dr Gurion Ang (Dr G) is an ecologist and Director of UQ's Bachelor of Science. He completed his PhD in 2017 on insect-plant interactions and still dabble in behavioural ecology research: understanding the intricate relationships between plants and their insect partners enable us to learn more about the ecosystem services they provide. He is a teaching-focussed academic specialising in ecology and zoology with the UQ School of the Environment (SENV).
