Professor Deborah Terry AC is a highly experienced leader in the Australian university sector.

 

 

 

Mark Hutchinson (Former CEO, Fortescue Limited)
Doctor of Business ’14, Bachelor of Commerce ’86

Mark is an international business leader with executive experience across the global energy and industrial sectors, including senior roles at General Electric where he led operations across Europe and China as President and CEO including overseeing the integration of Alstom’s power and grid businesses. He joined Fortescue in 2022 to drive the growth of its green energy portfolio, serving as CEO of Fortescue Energy where he advanced major renewable hydrogen and ammonia developments across Australia, the United States, Norway and Brazil. He has also held governance roles across ESG‑focused organisations, including board positions at World Wide Generation, Bluescope Steel, Mission Australia and Allianz Australia, and is an honorary Doctor of Business at the University of Queensland.
 

Professor Belinda Wade (Chair, Climate Action and Ethical Transition, UQ)
Bachelor of Applied Science ’99, PhD ’17.

With more than 25 years’ experience across the energy, higher‑education, and consulting sectors, Belinda focuses on advancing organisational decarbonisation and climate‑transition practices. Major collaborations span corporate climate reporting, emerging fuels, trust, and net‑zero strategy development, with partners including the AASB, Future Fuels CRC, Queensland Decarbonisation Hub, and Net Zero Australia. Belinda regularly publishes research articles and industry reports, and contributes commentary across academic and mainstream media, with her insights featured by outlets such as ABC Radio National, the AFR, and Nine News. She also serves in advisory roles with the SBTi and Australian Standards, supporting the development of credible climate governance and measurement frameworks.

 

Katherine Stodulka (Program Director, Quadrature Climate Foundation)

Katherine Stodulka is a leading sustainable finance practitioner, advising governments, asset owners and policymakers on how to mobilise capital to build more resilient economies and ecosystems. Over the past decade, she has helped structure billions of dollars of investment in emerging markets infrastructure especially for clean energy and nature based solutions. Katherine started her career as an M&A / finance lawyer where she worked with lenders and borrowers on critical energy, mining and transport projects in the UK, Europe, Australia and the Middle East. She is now a Director at the Quadrature Climate Foundation (QCF), where she leads the catalytic capital programme - deploying philanthropic funding to unlock investment. 

Before QCF, Katherine built and headed the Sustainable Finance practice at advisory firm, Systemiq. Katherine is the Chair of the Blended Finance Taskforce, is a founding member of Indonesia’s Tri Hita Karana Forum for Sustainable Development, is part of the Expert Advisory Group for the Coalition of Finance Ministers for Climate Action and is a member of the JUST Stories Advisory Council. She is the lead author of multiple publications including Better Finance, Better World, a reviewer of the Energy Transitions Commission finance reports with Lord Adair Turner and a member and author for the Independent High Level Expert Group on Climate Finance led by Lord Nicholas Stern (LSE) and Vera Songwe. 

Katherine was named Environmental Finance’s “Net Zero Champion of the Year” for her work helping structure the Global Fund for Coral Reefs and the Just Energy Transition Partnership in South Africa. She regularly guest lectures at the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership and Trinity College and mentors students and early professionals to build careers in sustainability. Katherine holds a law / commerce degree (First Class Hons) from UQ which included a 1 year exchange at the University of Edinburgh (winning the Munkman Prize for International Law). She is lucky to have remained connected to UQ including through its brilliant marine programme and work to protect the Great Barrier Reef.

Paul Kelly (Senior Sustainability Leader, HSBC International Wealth and Private Banking)

Paul is an international sustainability and strategy leader with over 15 years financial services and consulting experience. Prior strategy consulting experience at PwC Brisbane, qualifying as a chartered accountant, before moving in-house to lead c-suite sustainability, next generation wealth and investment management strategies at HSBC in London. Paul has been in the UK for 12 years having moved to Cambridge to read the Master of Finance. He’s actively involved in the UQ and Australian community in London as Chair of the UQ UK Trust, UQ UK Alumni Network, UQ BEL London Ambassador Council and mentor for young leaders at Cambridge and Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand. He has published professional thought leadership and spoken at events on both sustainable finance and financial wellbeing.
