The Naida Haxton Lecture is an annual event hosted by the UQ Law Society in honour of Naida Haxton, a UQ alum and the first woman to practice as a barrister in Queensland.

This year's keynote speaker is the Honourable Justice Sarah C Derrington AM, Judge of the Federal Court of Australia and former Dean of Law at UQ, who also served as President of the Australian Law Reform Commission from 2018 to 2023. She will address the topic, ‘Evolution and Revolution in the Law – A State of Origin perspective’.
