Want to connect with a new global network and add board experience to your CV?

Join the UQ Young Alumni Board in 2026 and help shape the future of alumni engagement at UQ.

Our Board members:

  • Create a vibrant young alumni community.
  • Help fellow alumni stay connected to all UQ has to offer.
  • Lead exciting events and connect with alumni worldwide.

If this sounds like you, apply by 5pm Friday 3 October.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it:

  • Help create a vibrant, global alumni community. Whether it’s hosting events, developing enlightening webinars or organising fundraising initiatives, it’s a fantastic opportunity activate your networks and infuse your vision and ideas into the future of alumni engagement.
  • The Board, led by passionate volunteers, is divided into portfolios looking after social events, professional development and student-facing activities. The Board serves as the vital link between the University and its alumni, offering support for career growth, business endeavours and personal development beyond graduation.
  • Provide valuable guidance, representation and support for the University's young alumni engagement plan. Picture yourself as part of a close-knit team, spearheading events, and connecting with fellow young alumni in Brisbane and across the world.
  • We're on the lookout for alumni under 35 who completed their most recent UQ degree in 2024 or earlier with a strong desire to connect with their peers. Preference will be given to those who've attended alumni events or volunteered in the past 12 months – your commitment speaks volumes!

The logistics: each Board member commits to a 2-year term, with the option to extend to a third year. Our quarterly 2-hour Board meetings are complemented by planning days in February and July – these are held over the weekend to fit in around your work commitments. Throughout the year, the UQ Young Alumni Board plays a pivotal role in organising 10 exciting events for our young alumni. Your weekly time investment typically ranges from 2 to 3 hours, with occasional peaks during events or major activities.
