UQ invites you to a webinar exploring the evolving online safeguarding risks now facing schools, families and young people. This session will be presented by Cybernetic Shield and will explore how schools can prevent, respond to and recover from online safety and cyber-related incidents.

The session will focus on the growing grey areas of online safeguarding that schools are increasingly being asked to manage. While cyberbullying remains a concern, schools are now also dealing with more complex issues involving AI-generated images, image-based abuse, sextortion, grooming concerns, impersonation, doxing, account compromise, online scams, harmful online communities and digital wellbeing concerns.

Attendees will leave with a clearer understanding of the situations they may need to navigate, what actions they can safely take when concerns arise, and how to access support when the situation needs to be escalated.

Date: Thursday 13 August 2026
Time: 2–3pm AEST
Cost: free, MS Teams webinar
Presenter: Jess Sears: Chief Operating Officer and Chief Risk Officer at Cybernetic Shield. Expert in navigating complex digital risks and strengthening online safeguarding practices.
