UQ School of Economics invites you to the latest instalment in our Economics Thought Leadership Series, 'Is it time for a four-day work week?'
The disruption created by the COVID-19 pandemic has led many of us to reconsider our work arrangements, noting the standard 38-hour week with four weeks' leave isn’t suitable for everyone. One response has been an upsurge in interest in a four-day working week, with some innovative companies already adopting it.
Panellists will discuss
• A variety of models being tested in an international 4 Day Week Global trial
• Would Australian workers prefer a four-day work week over higher wages?
• How can a four-day standard working week be managed in an economy where many activities are 24/7?
Panellists
• Professor John Buchanan, The University of Sydney Business School
• Emma Dawson, Per Capita
• Charlotte Lockhart, 4 Day Week Global
• Professor John Quiggin, The University of Queensland School of Economics
