Allan Davies

Mr Davies has over 40 years mining experience in the Australian and international coal and metalliferous mining industries, including managing mines in South Africa and Australia on behalf of BP and Rio Tinto.

Mr Davies is currently Co-Founder and Chairman of the Australian Rhino Project with the goal of establishing a breeding herd of black-and-white rhinos in Australia to protect the animals from extinction. He is also Chairman of the Board of Qube Holdings Ltd, and a non-Executive Director of XLX Pty Ltd.  He was founding executive director of Excel Coal through to the takeover by Peabody in 2006, and a non-executive director of Pacific National Pty Ltd, QR National Limited (now Aurizon), QMastor Limited and an executive director of Whitehaven Coal Limited until November 2012.

Mr Davies and his family have significant interests in philanthropy through their ownership and management of the Dalara Foundation. Key areas of focus for the Foundation are medical research, education, animal protection and human welfare including Indigenous youth.
