Janita Zhang

Janita Zhang is the Group Marketing & IT Manager at Risk 2 Solution Group, where she heads up both the marketing and IT departments. In her role, she leads the marketing department, overseeing marketing strategies, event management, and internal communications, while also managing the IT department, driving IT infrastructure projects and system administration. With a passion for innovation and engagement, Janita spearheads high-profile initiatives such as the Protective Security in Government (PSG) Conference, Cyber and Infrastructure Security (CIS) Conference, and Protective Security Summit (PSS), collaborating with government agencies and industry leaders.

Prior to joining Risk 2 Solution, Janita was the National Digital Communications Lead and Queensland Event Manager at the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham), where she worked with local, federal, and international stakeholders to deliver impactful events and launched AmCham's Queensland Internship Programme. Janita continues to mentor interns annually in events, marketing, and IT system administration, fostering the next generation of professionals.

As the Young Professionals Portfolio Lead on the UQ Young Alumni Board, Janita is dedicated to creating opportunities for young graduates to connect, grow, and thrive in their careers. She also serves as the Australian & New Zealand Chapter Chair for the Institute of Strategic Risk Management (ISRM), reflecting her commitment to leadership and professional development.

Janita holds a Bachelor of International Hotel and Tourism Management from The University of Queensland, with dual majors in Event Management and Hospitality Management. She has furthered her expertise with certifications in Microsoft 365, cybersecurity, and system administration, including Azure Fundamentals, Microsoft Power Platform, and Cybersecurity Risk Management.

In her spare time, Janita enjoys Latin dancing, exploring new food experiences, and spending quality time with friends and family. She is also passionate about bridging the gap between technology, communication, and strategic leadership.
