Gabrielle Simpson is one of Australia’s most remarkable netball players. Currently captain of the Queensland Firebirds, Simpson’s proven skill in defensive roles has seen her become an integral part of state and national teams that have won major competitions both domestically and at the international level.

In 2017, Simpson was named vice-captain of the Australian national team. The squad went on to win silver at the 2018 Commonwealth Games.

In 2017, she was also named the ninth Liz Ellis Diamond, one of the highest accolades an Australian netballer can receive.
