Bowen (Asteria) Chen

Asteria is an ESD Researcher at Populous and a tutor for Design courses at UQ and QUT, with a passion for sustainable, responsive, and resilient design solutions. Before focusing on environmentally sustainable design, she gained a year of experience in commercial space design in Shanghai, where she contributed to three projects featured on ArchDaily. In 2023, she published a paper as the first author at the CAADRIA 2023 conference titled "Analyst Patterns of Influence Between a Commercial Distribution and Neighbourhood Dynamic in a Residential Neighbourhood." 

Asteria completed her Master of Architecture Design at UQ in 2022. Throughout her six years at UQ, she served as an EAIT Faculty Ambassador and university volunteer. She also holds the Accredited Professional Certificate of Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED AP) from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).

During her studies, Asteria was an active member of the UQ Mentor community, participating in the UQ JSAPP Program, Get Set Program, and EAIT International Mentoring Program.

In her spare time, Asteria enjoys dancing, reading, and creating graphic designs.
