Ms Jacinta Carroll

“I am so grateful to be respected and highlighted as one of the top athletes amongst such an amazing sport community at UQ.”

Ms Jacinta Carroll is an elite water-skier and the reigning two-time world champion of water ski jumping.

The Geelong-born star set back-to-back world records in 2016 for the 194 feet and 198 feet events in Florida, USA; one of her record-breaking 60.3-meter jumps signified the first time a female athlete has broken the 60-meter barrier.

Carroll won seven gold medals across five international-level water ski events in 2016 – including the Australian National Championships and US Masters Water Ski and Wakeboard Tournament.

Carroll is the first water skier to win The University of Queensland Sportswoman of the Year.

She is currently attempting to defend her world championship title in Paris, to become a three-time world champion, while also working towards completing her practical rotations with a goal of graduating in December 2017.
