The recently completed UQ Lakes project transformed the area into a self-sustaining ecosystem by restoring water health and creating conditions for flora and fauna to thrive.

Approximately 8,000 trees, palms and shrubs, and 66,000 wetland plants were planted in and around the lake to provide habitat and support a healthy ecosystem.

Join our student-led tour as we explore the ecology behind the redeveloped lake and learn about the life that calls our campus home, followed by morning tea in the Dr Mary Mahoney AO Amphitheatre.

Please note, the tour will be a 45-minute walk on flat terrain at a leisurely pace with frequent stops, suitable for confident walkers.
