2 August 2024 11:45am–1:30pm
We invite you to register for UQ's finance roundtable for 2024 at Customs House, Brisbane City.
“Navigating the current: Capital flows around shifting geopolitics”
In an era where geopolitical events heavily influence market dynamics, this year’s Finance Roundtable delves into the intricate relationship between global capital flows and geo-political developments. With a keen eye on the imminent US election, and conflicts in Europe and the Middle East, our panel of experts will analyse how these political shifts are shaping investment strategies and financial markets in Australia and worldwide. Join us for a critical discussion on navigating the complexities of global politics to forecast and respond to the ever-evolving landscape of capital movement.
This discussion will explore:
- The impact of geopolitical tensions on cross-border capital allocation
- How divergent foreign policy orientations affect investment decisions
- Potential risks to financial stability arising from rising geopolitical tensions
Professor Shaun Bond, Deputy Head of School and Frank Finn Professor of Finance, will moderate an expert panel.
Panellists:
- Mr Paul Taylor, Head of Investments, Fidelity International
