Ms Susan Buckley

“I think my upbringing on a farm probably sparked my interest in markets at a young age - I started wondering why the price of grain went up or down and noticing fluctuations in the prices of agricultural goods… I wanted to know why”

Ms Susan Buckley is an industry leader and pioneer of women in finance who is responsible for managing more than $100 billion* in effective market exposure for clients’ portfolios.

As the managing director of QIC’s Global Liquid Strategies (GLS), Buckley oversees a team of 28 investment professionals based in Brisbane and London.

Buckley's drive to globalise her section of QIC's business saw her transform a team of just six people managing $6 billion for Queensland-based clients in 2001, to an international team managing $32.5billion in fixed interest portfolios and over $75bn in overlay exposures*. Her team currently service 50 institutional clients, managing fixed interest solutions and implementing a range of market solutions across inflation, equity, commodity and foreign exchange markets.
