Terms and conditions for UQ Alumni “like and tag to win” competition

How to enter

The UQ Alumni “like and tag to win” competition prize draw runs from 2.30pm Thursday 14 March 2019 to 11am Monday 18 March 2019. All the ‘likes and tags (comments)’ on the Facebook or Instagram post during the competition period before the closing time will be included in the prize draw. The winner will be picked randomly by the UQ Advancement team.

The following terms and conditions apply:

  1. Participation in the promotion by ‘liking and tagging’ on the competition post published on the UQ Alumni Facebook and Instagram pages between 2.30pm Thursday 14 March 2019 to 11am Monday 18 March 2019 is deemed acceptance of these terms and conditions.
  2. By entering this contest, entrants agree to a complete release of Facebook and Instagram from any or all liability in connection with this contest.
  3. The prize draw is open to all qualifying entrants who comment on the UQ Alumni Facebook or Instagram competition post between 2.30pm Thursday 14 March 2019 to 11am Monday 18 March 2019 (both dates inclusive). No purchase is necessary.
  4. The following persons are eligible to participate in the promotion:
  1. UQ alumni (graduate of The University of Queensland).
  2. Partners and family of University of Queensland staff are eligible to enter (if they are a UQ alumnus).
  3. The winner must be located in Brisbane or be able to attend the World Science Festival Brisbane event on their respective dates.

The following persons are not eligible to participate in the promotion:

  1. All management, employees, contractors and other staff of The University of Queensland (the “promoter”).
  1. Six (6) winners will win the prize of a ‘double passes to World Science Festival Brisbane events’.  Tickets are valued at between AUD$25.00 - $35.00.
  2. The prize will be randomly picked from eligible entrants on Monday 18 March 2019 and the winners will be notified via direct message and a ‘comment tag’ on the original competition post together with details of how to redeem the prize.
  3. The prize must be taken as offered. The prize is not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be redeemed as cash. The prize is not valid in conjunction with any other offer.
  4. By entering the prize draw, the winner consents to their name being published as winner of the prize draw and to participate in any publicity accompanying or resulting from this promotion in printed and/or online formats.
  5. If the prize is not claimed within one (1) day of the prize draw, the relevant winner’s entry will be deemed invalid and the promoter will conduct an unclaimed prize draw. Should an unclaimed prize draw be necessary, the winner of the unclaimed prize draw will be notified via private message.
    1. The Promoter recognises that this promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with Facebook or Instagram.
    2. The UQ Alumni Team will not be responsible for any entries that are not received for any reason, by the closing date and time, whether lost, delayed, corrupted or otherwise, and whether or not due to any technical difficulties or malfunctions.
